Brexit and EU students

Situation in 2020

Your rights to study and live in the UK will not change until 31 December 2020. You’ll be eligible for ‘home fee’ status'  if your course in England starts in the 2020 to 2021 academic year or before. This will be available for the duration of your course, provided you meet the residency requirements.

The current rules on travel and visa will continue to apply during the transition period (until the end of 2020).

EU Settlement Scheme

If you’re an EU citizen living in the UK by 31 December 2020, you and your family can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021. The deadline for applying is 30 June 2021.
