Quebec

Exemptions from foreign student differential tuition fees 

In the framework of an agreement signed between Québec and Luxembourg, the Government of Québec awards scholarships under the form of an exemption from foreign student differential tuition fees to Luxembourg nationals. This exemption allows students to benefit from the same tuition rates as Québec students and not to pay the differential tuition fees usually required of foreign students in Québec.

Eligibility requirements:

  1. Be a citizen of Luxembourg
  2. Be admitted to a university in Québec
  3. Be enrolled as a full-time student in a 1st, 2nd or 3rd cycle study programme

Application deadline:

  • 30.09. if the study programme starts in the winter term (January) of the relevant academic year
  • 30.04. if the study programme starts in the autum term (August) of the relevant academic year

For the autumn term 2021, the application deadline is exceptionally extended to 31st May 2021.

Application procedure

Applications should be submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education and Research

The application file must include the following documents:

  • Application form, duly completed and signed
  • Copy of ID card or passport;
  • Proof of admission to a university-level higher education institution in Québec;
  • Copy of the secondary school leaving certificate, including transcript of records;
  • Transcripts of records of all previous study semesters (if applicable);
  • Copy of all previously obtained higher education diplomas (if applicable);
  • Recent household income certificate (certificat de revenu) issued by the relevant tax office in Luxembourg. If the income certificates states „non imposable par voie d'assiette”, please also include the annual salary, pension or unemployment benefit certificates delivered for the past year by the employer, the pension fund, etc.  Income that is taxed abroad or income from European or international institutions must be proven by means of certificates issued by the responsible authorities.

The income certificate is not required if it has already been provided in the framework of an application for State financial aid for students in higher education.

Beneficiaries are selected on the basis of academic merit and social criteria.

South Korea

  • Tuition waiver scholarship for a study programme (in English or Korean) at Seoul Business School
  • Study period : September 2021 ~ February 2023
  • Eligibility: open for citizens of Luxembourg

The scholarship covers the tuition fees (about EUR 23,000; KRW 29,800,000), while the living cost in Seoul is at the student’s own charge. In order to keep the scholarship for the 2nd and 3rd semesters, the average grade in the first semester should be above B 3.0 (A+ = 4.3).

Submit a CV and letter of motivation by 28th February 2021 to info@luxembourg.or.kr. The selected candidate has to submit a full application to Seoul Business School by 30th March 2021.

Fulbright grants

Fulbright awards fund Belgian and Luxembourgish citizens to study, research, or lecture at an accredited US institution for a period between three months and one year. Grants are available for graduate study and research in all fields of study.
