Tuition Fees

If you are going to university in England, Wales or Northern Ireland

Universities in England can charge up to £9,250 per year for tuition fees if you are a non-UK EU student. Universities in Wales can charge up to £9,000. Universities in Northern Ireland can charge up to £4,030.  

If you are going to university in Scotland

Non-UK EU students can be charged up to £1,820 a year for tuition at a Scottish university. The Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) will pay these fees if you meet the eligibility conditions.

What will EU students pay after Brexit?

The announcements regarding fees for EU students are only short-term promises – beyond the 2018–19 academic year, many things are currently unclear.

EU students applying to an English, Scottish or Welsh university for entry in either the 2017–18 or 2018–19 academic year will be eligible for home fees for the duration of their course. Northern Ireland has currently only guaranteed funding will remain the same for the 2017–18 academic year!

(England: up to £9,250, Wales: up to £9,000 and Northern Ireland: up to £4,030 per year)
