Your checklist to help you plan your departure
- get informed about the different Australian institutions of higher education and their entrance requirements (at least 10 months in advance)
- take the different tests usually required (Toefl test and SAT or ACT test)
- apply directly to the institutions
- accept your letter of offer from the university
- receive the electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE)
- apply for the student visa
- arrange your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) required for entry to Australia
- try to get information about student accomodation
Minimum cost of living
The Department of Home Affairs has financial requirements you must meet in order to receive a student visa for Australia. From 1st February 2018 the 12 month living cost is $20,290 Australian dollars.
