Brexit and EU students
Your rights to study and live in the UK will not change until 31 December 2020. You’ll be eligible for ‘home fee’ status' if your course in England starts in the 2020 to 2021 academic year or before. This will be available for the duration of your course, provided you meet the residency requirements.
The current rules on travel and visa will continue to apply during the transition period (until the end of 2020).
Situation in 2021
From January 2021, EU students will be subject to immigration rules, following the end of the Transition Period on 31 December 2020.
EU students arriving on or after 1 January 2021 will need to apply through the Student route ahead of arriving in the UK.
